Our furry friends can make great subjects in licensing. We are a nation of pet lovers and as such dogs and cats often feature on licensed products, greeting cards, gift wrap etc etc. Here is a roundup of just some of the dogs and cats featured by a small selection of Pure Artists, whether the main focus of the work or an extra detail, these pets really make the piece.
Artist Camilla Charnock uses dogs and cats to add an affectionate touch to her designs. The execution is lovely and the animals really add something sweet to the story.
Artists Jonathan Miller and Luli Bunny add even more sweetness with their dog and cat characters. Cheerful and happy colours and creatures make great designs for kids products too.
Richard Smythe and Jan Pashley bring some humour with their dog depictions, bringing some real personality to their works.
Also, animals doing human things or actions generally make great stories for greeting card licensing, see below for more funny pieces, this time by artists Faye Gollaglee and Lorna Murphy.
Beautiful, realistic pet portraits, are also a popular choice for any pet owner, see pieces by Donna McGlynn and Richard Marsh.
Lastly, a couple of Christmas pieces by Clare Buckle and Catherine Aguilar. Christmas is such a major licensing theme and so dogs and cats must feature in this area too!
